Delta Air Lines Appoints Athar Khan as Director of Global Sales for the Asia Pacific Region

Taipei, Delta Air Lines announced Athar Khan as the director of Global Sales for Asia Pacific. In this role, Khan serves as the senior Delta sales leader across the APAC region including Korea and, in partnership with Delta’s joint venture partner Korean Air, is tasked with supporting the carriers’ joint corporate and agency customers and serving on the regional leadership team.

Khan leads a team of experienced Delta sellers in Korea, Japan, China, Taipei and Southeast Asia. He will also oversee the negotiation of multi-national agreements across local corporate and TMC accounts. Khan is based in Seoul.

With more than 25 years of experience, Khan is an airline industry veteran in global sales development. After joining Delta in 2011 as general manager – New York Sales, he helped lead Delta’s “Win in New York” strategy. He led a variety of teams throughout his tenure as director – financial services sales and as director – Asia Pacific Multi-National Account Sales.

Khan recently served as director of International Specialty Sales since October 2020. His team managed Delta’s relationship with accounts specialized in the Asia Pacific, Latin America and Europe-Middle East-Africa-India consolidator business, within the United States. Khan also coordinated joint selling activities with Delta’s partners including Aeromexico, Air France/KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Korean Air, LATAM, and China Eastern.

Before Delta, Athar also worked in the airline industry in international assignments across the globe including Hong Kong, Seoul, London, San Juan, and Doha.
