【New Taipei City】New Taipei City's
Xinzhuang Temple Street has a long history and rich cultural heritage. The
"Temple Street Fashion" show, which combines traditional street style
with modern fashion design, was held on May 24 at Xinzhuang Crescent Plaza. The "Temple Street Fashion" show attracted great
attention from the arts and fashion circles. New Taipei City Mayor Hou Youyi
personally attended the event to show his support. Knitwear Queen GIOIA PAN pointed out that
Taiwan's traditional culture is very important.
In order to combine fashion and
traditional culture, she will continue to explore the cultural textures of
different regions in Taiwan through design in the future to find inspiration
and creative motivation. "The culture of every piece of land is worth
seeing and interpreting."
New Taipei City Mayor
Hou Youyi said that in fact, for Xinzhuang, the new and the old are a good
place to alternate and spread. So in the past few years, I hope that Xinzhuang
can regain its glory and the old street can stand up again. It is also my wish,
no matter what form of walking or fashion, or even how we introduce some
cultural historical sites in the whole transformation work, this event shows
the innovation of the old and the new, which is the love for this land and
culture. And the Dizang Temple even invited two statues to watch the fashion
show together, so that the people on the scene can feel the innovative
combination of traditional culture and fashion.
"Temple Street
Fashion" not only had a cultural parade ceremony on the afternoon of
the 24th, but also had a star-studded event, including well-known actors Wen
Shenghao and Tang Meiyun, singers Chen Hua and Yang Haowei, and the boy band
U : NUS also sang enthusiastically on the spot to heat up the
atmosphere. The debut of Korean goddess Jeon Eun-bi was even more stunning.
Styling master Huang Yifeng and makeup artist-turned-actor Chu Xu were also
present to support. The recently popular BL reality show
" Casting " also came to the scene in person to add
brilliance to the event and filled the scene with enthusiasm.
The "Temple
Street Fashion" show is one of the highlights of the
2025 Xinzhuang Temple Festival cultural brand event "Trendy
Xinzhuang" series of activities. Led by knitwear queen GIOIA PAN , in
cooperation with the New Taipei City Government's Cultural Affairs Bureau, the
College of Textiles and Fashion of Fu Jen Catholic University, the Department
of Fashion Design of Shu-Te University, the Eelin College of Hsing-Wu
University of Science and Technology, and the Department of Fashion Modeling of
Taipei City University jointly participated in the event, transforming the
local culture of Xinzhuang Temple Street into design vocabulary, presenting a
cultural fashion festival that combines traditional heritage with modern
creativity. This time, a total of 40 sets of exclusive show clothes
were displayed, which amazed the audience on the scene.

The theme of this
"Temple Street Fashion" show is "Memories of the Street Corner".
The inspiration comes from the temple imagery, red brick arcades and night
market culture of Xinzhuang Temple Street. Through the texture translation of
the fabric and the innovation of structural cutting, fashion works with both
oriental cultural heritage and futuristic style are displayed. Before the
opening, officials and generals appeared in the street parade wearing
"Temple Street Fashion" costumes designed by GIOIA PAN. New Taipei City Mayor Hou Youyi also
personally participated in this annual cultural event in New Taipei. GIOIA PAN
pointed out that Taiwan's traditional culture is very important. In order to
combine fashion with traditional culture, she will continue to explore the
cultural textures of different regions in Taiwan through design in the future,
and find inspiration and creative power from them. "The culture of each
piece of land is worth seeing and interpreting." She also thanked the
organizer of this event, the New Taipei City Government, and many cooperative
brands for their support, and hoped that "Temple Street Fashion"
could become an important bridge connecting cultural sustainability and design
innovation. In addition, Taiwan's drum master "Xiang Renhe" will
launch the grand opening of "Temple Street Fashion".
"Temple
Street Fashion" combines Metaverse 3D technology with well-known
brands to bring more fashion trends
The "Temple
Street Fashion" event integrated traditional temple culture elements of
street parades, and combined with on-site lighting, music rhythm and stage
design to create a ceremonial performance atmosphere. The Metaverse visual
system was designed by VRSTATE , a virtual reality platform under the
Inventec Group, and combined with Metaverse 3D technology, the
audience felt as if they were experiencing the street memories through time and
space and reappearing on the catwalk while watching the models perform.
This annual event also
invites many local brands and emerging manufacturers to participate in the
market exhibition, from material co-creation to brand collaboration, sparking
rich creative sparks. This time, it specially cooperates with the super popular
shake brand UG TEA to design drink cups and tote bags
with local cultural imagery, and incorporates street totem details into the
design. The sparkling drink brand CHUCHU has also collaborated with GIOIA PAN on the "Temple
Street Fashion" themed sparkling drink. The bold and innovative packaging
gives traditional culture a new interpretation in the context of fashion.
Clarks, a
century-old British shoe brand , once again teamed up with GIOIA PAN to inject a modern and
fashionable feel into the overall clothing design. The scene was crowded with
people. This "Temple Street Fashion" show also gave San Tsannong
Temple Street a "new look". It not only inherited the traditional
culture of San Tsannong Temple Street, but also brought more fashion trends to
the local streetscape. The combination of traditional culture and fashion is
refreshing.
