In February, the cargo market continues to monitor the U.S. government's new tariff policies, leading to slight fluctuations in freight rates from Asia to North America. However, as cargo volume gradually recovers after the Lunar New Year, cargo revenue reached NT$ 2.53 million in February, representing 100% YoY growth and maintaining overall stability.
Also in February, STARLUX Airlines began ticket sales for three new routes: Taipei–Kobe, Taichung–Kobe, and Taipei–Ontario (U.S.). Once the Kobe and Ontario routes begin operations, STARLUX will expand its Japan network to 11 destinations and North America network to four destinations, further strengthening the route network and enhancing operational flexibility.
As the summer flights schedule comes into effect at the end of this month and demand for travel to Japan remains high, STARLUX Airlines will continue to operate A350 aircraft on the Tokyo morning and midday flights, while widebody aircraft will be used flexibly on the evening flight depending on market demand. For the Taipei–Nagoya route, A330neo widebody aircraft will be deployed from April to May to cover peak demand on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. In Taichung, the Taichung–Takamatsu route will be increased to five weekly flights from March 30, while the Taichung–Okinawa route will be increased to six flights per week from April to provide more convenience for travelers from central and southern Taiwan during the cherry blossom season.
In the Southeast Asian market, the
Taipei-Clark route will be increased to nine weekly flights from May, with
morning flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays,
while midday flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The Taipei-Jakarta route will be increased to five weekly flights. With the
capacity expansion, STARLUX aims to increase transit passenger volume gradually,
further strengthen its regional network and improve its competitiveness.
