UCC Group signed an MOU with domestic universities to cultivate champions and connect them to the world.
Taipei ---UCC Group Taiwan signed an
MOU with Taipei University of Marine Science
and Technology , Shih Hsin University, Ming Hsin University of
Science and Technology, Kunshan University of Technology, and Taipei City University
of Science and Technology at COFFEE LOVER's PLANET
(UCC brand flagship store ) today (July 17 )
. UCC Coffee will play the core key of "champion teams train
champions" to provide young students with the skills and knowledge needed
to stand out in the coffee industry, embrace innovation and continue to
explore, so as to implement UCC Group's talent sustainability action
of cultivating global talents and inheriting experience.
Mr. Shigesuke Uejima, Executive Director
of UCC Holdings, said: “This is an important milestone
for UCC Coffee in cultivating the next generation of coffee
professionals in Taiwan. UCC is committed to spreading coffee culture
and excellent quality through education, innovation and sustainable
development. Combining UCC’s expertise with the partnership with
universities and colleges will enable the younger generation of coffee
professionals to succeed in the industry.”
UCC Taiwan General Manager Eiji Seiyama also shared the
values and passion of the UCC Group
Champion Development Program at the press conference ! General Manager
Eiji Seiyama said: "We are expanding our outreach to young people.
Students are exposed to the world of coffee through basic courses, and aspiring
baristas can share experiences and communicate through cooperative activities.
This collaborative approach will cultivate a new generation of coffee lovers
and potential champion baristas."
The core of UCC, which has been established for more than 90 years, is a team of highly skilled experts and first-class baristas! The UCC Champion Barista Team consists of seven members, including Yang Yi Shan, the 2017 World Cup Siphon Coffee Championship Champion and current UCC
Champion Team Coach ; Chikako Nakai , the 2023 World Cup Siphon Coffee Championship ( WSC ) runner-up and the Japanese Brewing and Siphon Coffee Championship double champion ; Lin Shao Sing , the 2023 World Cup Latte Art Championship third place and the 2020 National Latte Art Championship champion ; Elaine Wong , the Hong Kong Siphon Coffee Championship champion ; Nutthinee Jearranan , the Thai Latte Art Championship champion ; and Chen Jun Hong , the 2023 Taiwan Poured Coffee Championship champion. ; and Kittanai Kongtanarak , who just won the 2024 Thailand Brewers Cup Hand-Poured Coffee Champion, attended the press conference to support this champion training and development plan.At the press conference, the UCC champion barista team
exchanged and practiced with student representatives
from five universities and colleges, including Lai Lihong, the first
student to represent Taiwan in the 2024 WCC World Coffee
Championship, who won sixth place, and other students who love and are
passionate about coffee, to witness this important event of champion talent
cultivation and industry-university cooperation.
UCC Coffee will continue to allocate group resources and
cooperate with more schools in the medium and long term to cultivate students
who love coffee, enhance their professional skills, encourage these outstanding
talents to step onto the international stage, practice corporate and university
social responsibility (USR , CSR) , and move towards
sustainable development.
