SINGAPORE AIRLINES TO RESUME TAIPEI FLIGHT FREQUENCY TO PRE-PANDEMIC LEVEL

Taipei---Singapore Airlines (SIA) will increase services to Taipei in an ongoing effort to restore its pre-pandemic capacity by 31 May 2023. This will support the strong demand for travel during the Northern Summer operating season (26 March to 29 October 2023).

SIA will step up the flight frequencies of SQ876 and SQ877 from four times-weekly to a daily service from 26 March 2023, providing ten weekly flights between Singapore and Taipei. SQ878 and SQ879 between the two cities will also increase from three-times weekly to a daily service from 31 May 2023. This brings the weekly services to Taipei up to 14-times weekly. With these additions, SIA will be operating at 100% of pre-pandemic levels to Taiwan by 31 May 2023.

Ms JoAnn Tan, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines, said: ‘The relaxation of border controls in South East Asia and parts of East Asia has brought about an uptick in demand for air travel, which will accelerate Singapore Airlines’ recovery in these regions. The increase in services to popular destinations such as Hong Kong SAR, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, as well as the increase in capacity to Australia during the Northern Summer period will provide our customers with even more value and options as they make their holiday plans. The restoration of our pre-pandemic network in East and South East Asia by March 2024 demonstrates Singapore Airlines’ operational readiness to capture the pent-up demand for air travel to these key markets, and reinforces our position as the airline of choice for travellers.’
