Taipei--- TIMTOS x TMTS 2022, the first co-branded machine tool mega show in Taiwan makes its debut today. A total of 950 exhibitors in 5,100 booths has packed Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 & 2. The physical show will go for six days while the one-month online exhibition till March 21.
The organizers,
TAITRA, TAMI and TMBA, bring the industry and exhibitors all together in an
effort to make the mega show possible. Industry professionals all over the
world have been eager to be a part of it either onsite or online. The grand
opening of TIMTOS x TMTS 2022 amid the pandemic has achieved another
"Taiwan Miracle" as the pandemic has lashed the machine tool trade
shows around the world.
Distinguished speakers
at the opening ceremony include President Tsai Ing-Wen, Premier Su Tseng-chang,
Minister Mei-Hua Wang of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Director Sandra
Oudkirk of American Institute in Taiwan, Taipei Office, Chairman James C. F.
Huang of TAITRA, and TAMI Chairman Larry Wei and TMBA Chairman Habor Hsu,
giving remarks and congratulations on TIMTOS x TMTS 2022.
The launch of TIMTOS x
TMTS 2022 is extraordinary and meaningful amid the pandemic, said Chairman
James Huang. In his remarks, he gave thanks to the concerted efforts of many
parties to make the mega show happen. It is not only the largest trade show in
Taiwan since the outbreak of the pandemic but also the world's first machine
tool trade show in 2022. Chairman Huang pointed out that the machinery industry
is facing challenges such as border control, shifts in the global supply chains
and climate change issues. Meanwhile, there are emerging opportunities for the
industry such as EV, aerospace, medical care and green energy. More and more
enterprises are incorporating new technologies and ESG concepts into their
business plans to enable greater efficiency and sustainability.
Chairman Wei stressed
that TIMTOS x TMTS 2022 marks a good beginning of a prosperous 2022. Taiwan
ranked third in the world's machine tool export in 2021 with a phenomenal
increase by 29.1% over the same period of 2020. Chairman Wei is proud that
Taiwan machine tool industry was not defeated by the pandemic, and Taiwan will
continue to show resilience and strength in 2022. Chairman Hsu emphasized
that TIMTOS x TMTS 2022 adopts a hybrid format to overcome the border control.
Foreign visitors can easily access the latest models and innovative R&D
outputs on the digital platform of the show. Taiwan machine tool industry is
transforming towards intelligence and digital upgrade. Intelligent solutions
and know-how are the keys to business growth in the future, according to Hsu.
TIMTOS x TMTS 2022
serves as an important international platform for the global machine tool
industry to showcase the latest smart manufacturing solutions. Exhibitors from
16 countries/regions, including three national pavilions from the United
States, Switzerland, Germany and such leading brands as FFG, PMI, YLM, HIWIN,
SHINBU, KAFO, CHMER, SOCO, MAZAK, TONGTAI, YOU JI, TAIWAN TAKISAWA, YCM,
TRUMPF, VICTOR TAICHUNG, DELTA ELECTRONICS are gearing up to impress visitors.
The all-star exhibitor list also includes four giants in CNC controllers,
FANUC, MITSUBISHI, HEIDENHAIN and SIEMENS. TIMTOS x TMTS 2022 focuses on two
themes of "Smart Manufacturing" and "Intelligent Key
Components", and the exhibits cover Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing and
a comprehensive ecosystem of machine tools.
The mega show comes
with an array of online services for international visitors, including TIMTOS x
TMTS Online, On-site Guide for Online Visitors, Live Tour @ Showground,
Sourcing Taiwan Machinery, Media Eye on TIMTOS x TMTS, and On-site Guide for
Media Tour. More than 1,500 overseas buyers from 64 countries have registered
online or onsite. Up to 700 sessions of online tours and procurement meetings
have been signed up.
In addition to a
lineup of seminars and forums, there are four featured programs for domestic
visitors, namely "Smart Manufacturing Guided Tour,"
"Manufacturers Win Podcast Live," “Cutting Tool Hunter” and
“Afternoon Jazz.” The Smart Manufacturing Guided Tour was fully booked as soon
as the registration opened. The themed Guided Tour attracts over 100 Taiwanese
industry people who plan for business expansion or reshoring which will
ultimately generate new business opportunities.
The physical
exhibition of TIMTOS x TMTS runs 10 AM to 6 PM, February 21 to 26. The show
follows the guidelines regulated by the Ministry of Economy Affairs on hosting
MICE events in the pandemic. An on-site pandemic prevention task force is put
in place. Measures such as disinfection mobile robots patrolling show floor,
touchless entry systems using QR code, adequate cleaning and sanitization day
and night, and pandemic prevention kits for every exhibitor are employed to
ensure the safety and health of all attendees.
