The German Wine Institute organizes Riesling Weeks in 13 countries around the world every year to introduce the high quality, diversity, and wine pairing capabilities of Riesling, as well as to promote other German wine such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner. This year, the Riesling Weeks will be held again in Taiwan by DEinternational Taiwan Ltd. (the service unit of the German Trade Office Taipei) and AOW Co., Ltd from July 26th to August 26th, 2021. We bring hundreds of restaurants, bars, and wine stores together for you to enjoy a feast of Riesling wines and wine pairings, as well as great value offers!
The Riesling Weeks Taiwan will be held from 26th July to 26th August for a month in 2021. In order to maintain the safest social distance, the press conference and the Master Seminar will be virtual and broadcast online. We will connect to Germany and with hundreds of participants. The German Wine Princess Eva Müller will also join us and shares her insights on German wines together with Max Huang, sommelier of Marriott Hotel. We are honored to invite two sommeliers from Michelin-starred restaurants, sommelier Rocky Wang, Manager of Elegant Italian Restaurant at Palais de Chine Hotel and sommelier Hongliang Zhang from Nihonryori RyuGin as main speakers for our Master Seminar. Two masters will make introduction on German wine regions, grading systems, grape varieties, as well as the blind tasting and food and wine pairing.
The flood disaster last week has had a devastating impact on the wine producers of the Ahr Valley in Germany. The deluge of water has carried away barrels, wine bottles, and machines, thus destroying entire wine-producing businesses and livelihoods.
