German Companies in Taiwan Show a High Commitment to Their Corporate Social Responsibility - New GTO CSR Report

TAIPEI, Taiwan – The German Trade Office Taipei (GTO) has compiled a new corporate social responsibility (CSR) report about corporate social activities initiated in 2019 and 2020 by 21 German companies operating in Taiwan.
“Achieving a better and more sustainable world will be possible only with the support of the business sector,” stated Axel Limberg, Chief Representative and Executive Director of the GTO while presenting the report at a press conference today at the German Institute Taipei. He further emphasized, “In Taiwan, over 250 German companies are playing a vital role in the economic and social environment. Besides being major employers, they see themselves as socially responsible enterprises committed to Taiwan’s society. We are very delighted to see that German companies continue the century-long tradition of CSR across the world and are taking responsibility for local communities.”
Guests of honor at the press conference were Ms. Jessie Lieh-Jiun Chao, First Economic Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Affairs; Mr. Yeh-Shin Chu, Senior Executive Officer of European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; as well as Sven Meier, Media and Public Affairs Officer of the German Institute Taipei, all of whom delivered welcoming remarks.
