This year's presentation awakens visitors' senses of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch, unfolding through five sources of life energy: Vitality, which gets the body moving right at the entrance; Restoration, which relaxes body and mind amid a sea-mist mountain-and-ocean atmosphere; Nourishment, which lets visitors taste the vitality of the land; Reassurance, which builds a sense of healing through natural fragrance; and Connection, fostered in a social lounge where experts share insights on building senior communities and on Hualien's Longstay wellness lifestyle. Immersive Experience Meets Technology: AI Assistant "Jiu Jiu" Curates Personalized Itineraries

A highlight of this year's "Hualien: Land of Healing" pavilion is its immersive design, which instantly transports visitors to Hualien. At the entrance, a mountain-sea cloudscape welcomes guests and symbolizes the awakening of Vitality, inviting everyone to get their senses moving — including a chance to try the smart sit-to-stand elliptical trainer provided by Dyaco International, designed so that even senior visitors can pedal with ease and awaken body and mind. Guests then step into the "Restorative Relaxation Zone," where sea mist and ambient soundscapes surround them as they breathe in a Hualien-exclusive fragrance created by YUAN (阿原), inspired by the Liwu River. This scent transforms the memory of Hualien's mountains and forests into fragrance, delivering both the Restoration of body and mind and the Reassurance of a settled spirit in a single breath.

There is plenty more to explore. The pavilion also brings together local vendors, cuisine, handicrafts, and cultural displays that let visitors experience the Nourishment of the land's vitality. A special "AI Jiu Jiu Interactive Zone," themed around Hualien County's official bird, the Black-naped Oriole, features an AI assistant that recommends personalized Longstay healing itineraries tailored to each visitor. Combining mountain-and-sea visuals, technology displays, and interactive installations, this immersive showcase makes it easy to plan the next perfect healing getaway to Hualien.

A Tourism Destination and Age-Friendly "Wellness Healing Capital"

Beyond bringing Hualien's mountain-and-sea healing appeal, local culture, and signature cuisine into the expo hall, Lion Travel has also designed three special itineraries for this year's exhibition theme — ranging from stargazing private dining and heritage house walks to forest retreats, art and craft workshops, and small-town strolls — inviting travelers to experience Hualien at a slower, deeper pace. In recent years, the Hualien County Government has actively advanced its "Healing Capital" development plan, integrating the natural environment, health promotion, cultural experiences, tourism, and local industry resources. Guided by the lifestyle philosophy of "sleeping well, eating well, exercising well, de-stressing well, and simply being well," the plan is building a comprehensive wellness lifestyle zone that balances body and mind, promotes health, and elevates quality of life — allowing visitors to Hualien to slow down and rediscover their health, happiness, and appreciation for life. Hualien warmly welcomes seniors to consider it their top choice for a Longstay retreat.
