Taiwan Food Expo Exhibition Map Revealed
Highlight 1 : A large collection of Michelin and Bib Gourmand
recommended food, allowing you to taste all the delicious food in Taiwan at
once
In
the hot summer, gourmets who want to taste delicious food but don’t want to
travel a long way can come to the Taiwan Food Expo to taste Michelin-starred,
Michelin-plated and Bib Gourmand-recommended food from all over Taiwan! The
Grand Mercure Taipei has launched a super-value food voucher, with a maximum
discount of 55 % per voucher, which can be used to taste the Michelin
one-star Taiwanese restaurant "Mi Xiang"; the Ministry of Economic
Affairs' most popular "Taiwan Good Food House" every year brings
together 30 gourmet restaurants, including Taichung's Bib
Gourmand-recommended "Shanghai She Yu Wei" which will bring the
pan-fried buns that sold out every day last year, "Luo's Ancient Flavor"
serving delicious sesame oil dishes; and Tainan locals highly recommend the
"Fresh Steamed Shrimp Meatballs" with chewy skin and
fresh fillings ; and "Shan Xin Folk Creative Cuisine",
which has been recommended by the Michelin plate for four consecutive years,
presenting Taiwanese cuisine interpreted with innovative cooking techniques.
Highlight 2 : You can eat and drink the best food in Taiwan at
one stop
Continuing
the highly acclaimed Chiayi Triple Crown last year, the Chiayi County
Government brought black gold - mullet roe, black gold - high mountain coffee,
tea gold - high mountain tea, white gold - sea salt and green gold - wasabi to
"Chiayi. Hardware Store" this year, including the "Lin Family
Champion Mule Roe" which won the National Top Ten Shennong Award;
"Zhuo Wu Coffee" and "Qingye Coffee" with world-class
boutique coffee; "Shengli Farm" located on Provincial
Highway 18 in Alishan and "Jin Yangxin Tea House and Coffee
House" which won the silver award and special flavor award in the French AVPA World
Tea Competition; the most expensive buffet in Taiwan. , the
"Zhounan Salt Field" which uses salt for the Michelin Bib
Gourmand-recommended A-Sha Hotel; and the "Alishan Extreme Wasabi",
the only successfully restored site in Alishan, allowing the public to fully
explore Chiayi's champion delicacies.
With
"milkfish" as the theme, the Tainan City Government invited Chef
Huang Jinglong, the "Prince of Taiwanese Cuisine" who has won
numerous awards in domestic and foreign culinary competitions, Chef Cai
Ruicheng of the 2023 Bib Gourmand-recommended "Dongxiang
Taiwanese Seafood Cuisine", and Chef Xie Jiaxin of Taiwan's first Bib
Gourmand-recommended "Changying Seafood House" by Mama Tian to take
turns to perform a milkfish cooking show to present the deliciousness and
purity of Tainan.
The
National Treasury Agency of the Ministry of Finance invited businesses to
exhibit and sell certified liquors that have won awards at home and abroad over
the years, including the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Co., Ltd., which has won
many international wine competition awards with its
" OMAR Whisky"; the Taichung City Wufeng District Farmers'
Association, which won the gold medal with its "Chuwu·Shochu" at the
San Francisco Spirits Competition; and the Shuntang Laijia Co., Ltd., which won
double gold medals with its "Shuntang 58 Super Sorghum Liquor",
as well as 8 businesses including the Fulu Shou Distillery and
the Zhongfu Distillery .
Highlight 3 : A food
exhibition combining tradition and innovation, with special agricultural and
fishery products and delicious food delivered directly from the production area
You
can also experience the delicious taste of the farming and fishing villages at
the food exhibition. The Ministry of Agriculture's "Taiwan Agricultural
Center" invited 13 rural youths who have won awards or obtained
certification in international competitions to exhibit and sell high-quality
agricultural and fishing specialties from various regions, including
"Little Sweetheart Handmade Jam" to exhibit and sell citrus jam that
won many awards in the world competition; Kaohsiung Yongan " The Xingang
Community Cooperative brought the only pure seawater-raised grouper in Taiwan;
the Shanheng One Tree Agricultural Innovation in Maolin, Kaohsiung, which has
won the iTQi Flavor Rating 3- star medal for two consecutive
years, sold organic rose soft serve ice cream; the rural youth "Young
Grandpa - Fang Ziwei" who had just won the World Agro-Tourism
Award would appear to promote Taiwan's vegetable market culture.
If
you want to explore the local customs and culture of the place of origin, you
can't miss the local flavors brought by 12 Tian Mama restaurants,
including the "Natural Tea House" in Xizhi, New Taipei
City, which has been certified as a three-star traceability restaurant by the
AMOT Association for four consecutive years, using Baozhong tea with
production and sales history or organic ingredients in dishes; "Guan Furen
Countryside Cuisine" in Zhuangwei, Yilan, has launched a
cantaloupe-flavored meal. There is also a limited "Tian Mama Small
Banquet" on site, with 7 Tian Mama restaurants taking turns to
serve up good flavors passed down through their skills, and more than 100
carefully selected rural souvenirs delivered directly to the exhibition site.
Highlight 4 : You can eat without queuing, and you can get all
the popular delicacies at once
The
popular Chiayi "Lin Congming Fish Head Casserole" also brings popular
casserole dishes; the "Haibin Seafood" in Cijin, Kaohsiung, which has
been a long-established restaurant for more than 40 years, provides abundant
and affordable seafood dishes; Taiwan Bingxin Vienna soft-serve brand
"France Baking" sells the most popular Vienna milk bread and the
popular thousand-layer egg tart; Taipei's popular hot pot restaurant
"Handmade Hall Spicy Hot Pot", which focuses on all-handmade hot pot
ingredients and uses natural vegetables, fruits and bones to cook the soup
base, provides tastings at two times a day; Taipei Dadaocheng's creative
Taiwanese restaurant " The Carp " brings the signature
mullet roe dish; Taiwan's popular Japanese tofu pudding shop "Shanhai Tofu
Pudding" will provide the signature silk tofu pudding with good
ingredients and delicious taste.
Highlight 5 : Champion chefs will give on-site demonstrations
and cooking classes will allow students to cook together
Taiwan
Food Show is an exhibition that brings together chefs from all over Taiwan. The
Hakka Affairs Council invited THOMAS CHIEN, which was awarded
the 2023 Michelin Green Star, to "Chef Jian Tiancai will
demonstrate innovative Hakka cuisine; Regent Taipei has invited Lin Yunshun,
the first sommelier in Taiwan to win the Michelin Award, to share a guide to
food and wine pairing; the Chiayi County Government has invited chefs Yao Yuanhao and Wu
Bingcheng to give cooking lessons; chefs Aji, Afang, Xiaogang and others will
go to the Ministry of Finance's National Treasury's Qiongjiang Yulu Pavilion to
teach certified wine cooking; the Ministry of Agriculture will have Mama Tian
and rural youth conduct food and agriculture education classes, taking everyone
to DIY experience the preservation of food techniques that combine
modern and traditional wisdom; the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and the
Tourism Administration's "Taiwan Fun" exhibition hall has planned a
number of cooking classes, where you can learn to cook Taiwanese dishes with
chefs and eat them right away!
Highlight 6 : Providing recycled tableware rental, eating
delicious food should also be sustainable
In
order to move towards sustainability and achieve environmental friendliness and
reduce the use of disposable tableware, the organizers encourage the public to
bring their own environmentally friendly tableware and bags. The exhibition
site also provides a rental service for recyclable tableware. The public is
welcome to respond to environmental protection and practice plastic-free
eating.
In line with the spirit of giving back
to society, the organizers are also planning a blood donation ticket
giveaway limited to 10,000 tickets this year. From July 28 to August 3
, at 18 blood donation sites in the Beibei Base area , donating
one bag of blood can be exchanged for one ticket, and donating two
bags of blood can be exchanged for two tickets. The public is
invited to respond to public welfare and roll up their sleeves to donate blood.
