STARLUX Airlines (2646) released its financial reports for the full year 2023 today. The company reported a remarkable total revenue of NT$22.5 billion, representing an impressive 568% year-on-year growth. Passenger revenue reached NT$19.7 billion, reflecting a substantial 767% year-on-year increase. Furthermore, cargo revenue reached NT$1.6 billion, indicating a solid 74% year-on-year growth. This exceptional growth is primarily due to the resurgence of travel demand after the pandemic as well as the introduction of eight new destinations, including North America, resulting in excellent revenue performance, and marking STARLUX’s first full-year profit. Net profit for the full year 2023 is NT$149 million, or NT$0.08 per share.
STARLUX currently has 25 regular routes, of which 23 depart from Taipei and 2 from Taichung. Travel to Northeast Asia has increased significantly and passenger numbers have reached pre-pandemic levels. In addition, STARLUX has strategically focused on expanding its cross-continental transit market and anticipates an increase in demand in Southeast Asia by expanding aircraft and improving time slots.
Looking ahead to this year, STARLUX Airlines’ operational strategy will focus on deepening its presence in transit markets, strengthening its route network, enhancing economic scale and profitability, and intensifying cooperation with other airlines to further expand the network to meet passenger demand.
