Taiwan Tourism Bureau to Attend First IT&CM China Virtual Event for Post-Pandemic MICE Market

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the global economy. Although many countries still remain in lockdown, the global tourism market, however, seems optimistic in the post-pandemic world. Because of the amazing job on containing the outbreak, Taiwan is expecting to become an important Asia destination with the help of its high quality medical system, which enhances travel safety for visitors.
However, affected by the current global epidemic, MICE events that gather a large number of people have to seek alternative solutions. The international convention and exhibition industry believes that future MICE events will be transformed into “hybrid events.” Thus, the Tourism Bureau plans to not only participate in the "IT&CM China 2020 virtual event" to prepare for the trend, but also communicate with the important relevant industry institutions as well.
"Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings China, IT&CM China“ has been held in Shanghai since 2007 every year. This exhibition is one of the most important incentive travel shows in China, advocating "Promoting China to the World and the World to China", by TTG Events, a business group of TTG Asia Media, the CITS International Convention and Exhibition Co., Ltd., and the international exhibition planning group (MPI). Due to the epidemic this year, the event will be transformed into a virtual gathering expected to explore new business opportunities, and strengthen cooperation opportunities.
Although the global tourism industry and international MICE business face serious challenge this year, it also represents an evolution of the MICE industry with a new type of business model. While the situation is still intense worldwide, the Tourism Bureau sees the virtual event as a new start to promote Taiwan and attract MICE groups to come here in the near future.
